Lawn Aeration is one of the most impactful services you can apply to your landscape, especially in our heavy clay soils become more compacted than loam or sandy soils.  Foot traffic, pets, mowing and summer heat are some of the main causes of soil compaction that will limit your lawn's ability to develop deep roots due to nutrients and water being unable to penetrate the root zone (4+ inches below grade).

We offer a mechanical (Core Aeration) and biological/chemical (Liquid & Granular Aeration) options for Lawn Aeration.  Both options improve soil structure and deliver serious long-term benefits to your lawn.

• Core Aeration uses a hydraulic machine to pull small plugs (4-5 inches deep) out of the soil.  This physically relieves compaction and creates channels for air, water and nutrients.
• Liquid or Granular Aeration consists of applying a solution in liquid or granular form that contains humic acids, surfactants and soil conditioners.  These chemicals penetrate the soil to break up compaction chemically and biologically.  This method is less damaging to the lawn, however is not recommended for heavily compacted areas.
• Relieves Soil Compaction - Compacted soils suffocate the roots; limiting oxygen, water penetration and nutrient uptake by the roots.  Aeration opens up the soil profile so the grass rhizomes and stolons can spread deeper and stronger.
• Deeper, Stronger Root Systems - Better oxygen flow encourages roots to grow deeper (often 6+ inches).  This makes the lawn more drought-tolerant and heat resistant.
• Improved Water & Nutrient Efficiency - Water soaks in instead of running off.  Fertilizers reach the root zone more effectively.
